Game tied 3-3 in the 7th inning and a very controversial call and costly call by the umpires made the difference in the game. Salem had a 1 out double from Thea Cooper, and Lakeisha Bowsman hit what appeared to be a routine double. The ball stopped below the fence and immediately the center fielder threw up her arms saying it was under the fence. Lakeisha proceded to keep running and the umpires made no calls. Once the umpire started to head out to center field, the center fielder picked up the ball and threw it in quickly behind Bowsman scoring. The play was reversed to a ground rule double and only gave the Fighting Tigers 1 run instead of 2. Up 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh the tigers score 1 run on two routine costly errors. Wesleyan never looked back and took the win in the 9th Inning. Congradulations Salem Softball for finishing 4th in the tournament.
