Salem started off the 2008 postseason on a rocky note. After leading off the tournament with a single by Tori Lease, the offense remained quiet during the first inning. Glenville came out ready and score 4 runs on two salem errors in the bottom of the 1st to take an early 4-0 lead. Amber Russell led off the second inning with a HR to left as the Salem Tigers showed signs of life. Glenville came back with two back to back singles in the second but then Kyanna Cape shut the door. Kyanna Cape then would finish the game with only giving up 2 additional hits. Salem International's bats had a 5 run 6th on singles by Thea Cooper, Erin Smith, Alicia Potts, Kassidy Nutter, and a double by Amber Russell. Salem came to play in the first scoring a run on Thea Cooper's first postseason home run, and threatened again with a walk to Erin Smith and a double to Lakeisha Bowsman. Unfortunately Salem couldnt overcome Wesleyan's offensive surge as they put up 10 runs in the first 4 innings. Only other offensive production from Salem came by a second inning double by Kassidy Nutter, single by Alicia Potts, and a Home Run by Tori Lease.
