Joe Wehrle , Head Coach, Men's Soccer

Joe Wehrle is in his first year as the coach of the Salem International University men's soccer team. He graduated from Bluefield College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He also has a Master's degree in Physical Education from Delta State University.

In 1993, he coached high school soccer at Myrtle Beach High and coached the River City Soccer Club to a state championship. Joe also played at Piedmont College in 1993-94 until he transferred to Bluefield College in 1994-96. He was captain of the Conference regular season champs in 1996. He was a Graduate Assistant at Oglethorpe in 1999, and in 2002-03, he was a goalkeeper coach for Greensboro Soccer Club. He also got his USSF National D coaching license.

Joe then went on to be the Graduate Assistant at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi in 2003-04, and in 2005, he was the volunteer assistant for women's soccer team at Bethany. Joe coached the JV men's soccer team at Bethany in 2006. Joe is a good addition to the many years of experience at Salem International University.
