Salem Baseball
In Salem’s last regular season games, the Tigers took on Fairmont State. This Game was the last WVIAC home game for some of the Salem boys. Scott Toothman, Josh Nutt, Jamie Shoemaker, Mo Mathey, Andrew Bell, Zach Cuozzo, and Allan Martinez. Scott, Josh, Mo, Zach, Jamie, and Allan have been at Salem for four years and have been big part of the Tigers baseball team. Andrew Bell came to Salem last year but was a part of the team as soon as he got here. The Tigers took 1 game out of the 3 game series on Sunday, in the first game, the Tigers held Fairmont to 0 runs throughout the whole game until the 8th when Fairmont scored to win the game. The second game, was all Fairmont, but in the third game, Salem took over Kevin Demattos threw an outstanding game, with Allan Martinez coming in to finish it off. The big inning for the Tigers was the 3 rd. With 2 runners on base, Andrew Bell came to the plate, and hit a home run to put the Tigers up 3 to 1. Salem got three more runs to win the game 6 to 4. Salem’s next game is on Thursday the 24 th at Frank Loria vs. Columbia Union.
