Salem International turned a lot of heads in this matchup as the tigers defeated #4 ranked Charleston 4-3 in extras. An intense back and forth game led by Kyanna Cape ( 10 innings pitched, 12 hits 2 earned runs, and 5 Ks). Down 3-0 in the 6th, Kass Nutter sparked the Salem Tigers with her first post season and college home run as she took it over the left field fence. Salem took that into the 7th as Weslyn Leffler jacked a two run homer to tie the game up at 3 all. The excitement didnt stop there. While Kyanna Cape held Charleston's offense, the Tigers were planning an ending to remember. In the 10th inning with Weslyn Leffler on third, Kassidy Nutter bunted a ball down first base line with two outs. The first baseman muffed the ball and Kass was safe while the go ahead run scored.
