SIU Withdraws from the WVIAC
SALEM, W.Va. -- Salem International University (SIU) today announced that it has withdrawn its membership from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Inc. (WVIAC) effective May 1, 2010. SIU will complete the current season and will compete as a NCAA Division II independent for the 2010-11 academic year for all sports. As a charter member, SIU wishes the WVIAC well and anticipates that it will continue to have relationships with conference institutions as an Atlantic Region opponent in a number of sports.
